anyone installed the racing cams yet?
i just ordered the racing cams/ecu kit ... should be in stock in about a week.
has anyone installed the cams yet?
what is the deal with degreeing the cams to get optimal performance?
does the kit come with decent instructions, or the usual instructions for DP kits?
what is the performance gain after installation (am assuming the cams were installed with/after a full exhaust termi system)?
grazie in advance for your answers.
a presto,
johnc

The "kit" comes with no instructions. See this thread...
Cam Timing, Degreeing the Cam
and this thread...
Ordered Cams
108 degrees intake center lobe seems to be the recommended spec for the DP cams per Bruce Meyers famed Ducati tuner. Cam timing can affect how your engine makes power (top end, mid, low). It also keeps your valves from meeting your pistons. While you're at it, good time to get some headwork done.

I had the cams installed with the Zard full system. I do not have any dyno numbers but the bike runs great. One thing I will say is that you basically have to have a full service done. They had adjust the valves and add a bunch of shims it was about $700 just for labor.

John, as I have not installed my cams yet, I can't speak for myself, not
until Jan, 09 when I do my top end, but I can tell you about our friends bike,
Hypetsu (Tamir) he has the cams, HC pistons, porting, and the Ti DP full
2 into1 exhaust, his bike flat rips! any time he turns the throttle on a straight
he just pulls me! but then again I do weigh 100lbs than him.....LOL Alex

One other thing, the 108 spec is for stock pistons. If you're running H/C pistons, the spec may be different. As a point of reference, stock cam timing is 116 degrees intake center lobe.

Tamir is using 11. 1 compression STD Pistal pistons, same as the ones I will be getting, execpt
mine will be the big bores. They really are high quality pistons, but are a little pricey
PM sent, Aloha Alex
