Question Pistal racing pistons info

Hi guys,

I've an Hyper s, underseat termi, Zard full exhaust, DP cammes and STM Evoluzione racing clutch (sweeeeet) plus few carbons bits.

My next step are headworks (mine have to be replaced under warranty due to paint flaking) and I was thinking pistal racing pistons, and quick throttle tube (also , lighter flywheel and the beast-R...will see)

Anyway, I was wondering wher you guys bought the pistons, which model and how much did you pay for it.

Also, if anyone can point me to a less expensive site (sites) where I can buy all of the above, will be great.

Cheers

If you're in the USA, call the Ducshop, www.ducshop.com

It's going to be tough to find a deal on those pistals. An alternative is the FBF/Wiseco pistons at almost half the cost of the pistals.

Good luck, your bike should run great!

This is something I'd ike to do, but I'd love to fit a middle weight flywheel, the nichols is to light, I need one around a kilo weight.

That's the DP lightweight flywheel. It weighs 1kg

We turn stock flywheels down to any weight you want ($75) or any good machine shop can, most common are done to just under a kilo (1lb 12 oz) for over 2 kilo stock. I reccomend to stay away from aluminum ones since the splines take a lot of load and can shear (we see a few a year come in the shop) which will get shavings in the oil and the starter wont work because the sprag mounts to it.

Yes, we are the U.S Distributor for Pistal. I tried a few other companies to make our pistons but was not satisfied with the quality. Our 1122 kit is the most poular or we have drop-ins for 1000 or 1100's. http://www.ducshop.com/product_view.php?cat=6&pid=303

Turn the flywheel wight down is an option, but I want to keep my stock flywheel, just in case.

As for the pistons, I'm looking for a straight replacement, like the 1080.

Is the sale price referred to an extra discount or to the actual price I see on the website?

Wisco pistons have been around from the '70's. I've had great success with them. I wouldn't hesitate to use them myself.

The sale price is a little lower than "suggested" retail and you can apply for dealer, racer or trackdayer pricing at parts@ducshop.com (wont post them here). You might look for a used stock flywheel on e-bay and have it turned down, would still be less $.

Thanks, Mark
