2009 S Front forks change to Kayabe
2008 Hyper S had Marzocchi 50mm fully adjustable upside-down fork with DLC, I see the 2009 have Kayaba 48mm fully adjustable upside-down forks with DLC, are the Kayaba a lower spec fork, thoughts

Curious as well. I don't know just how great the Marzocchi actually are though. I know that the DLC coating on the MV's have encountered wearing off! Don't know if any Ducati's have had this problem however. Kinda makes sense being that the base '09 HM maintains the Marzocchi cuz it doesn't have the coating on them anyway.
I think that Kayaba is no slouch regarding quality. So I assume it's an upgrade and improvement.

Anything is an improvement over Marzocchi.

will the 2009 s have a different sized triple clamp if they are 48mm, over the 2008's 50mm, do Ohlins make a 50mm front fork?

The 50mm or 48mm refers to the slider part of the fork, not the part that where the triple clamps goes.

I've had good experiences with KYB's in the past. That is good news, but not for me since I am stuck with the marzok's and can't do anything to them except for swapping fluid.

Thats really too bad that our forks are so hard to rebuild & "tune" to our riding styles & weights, I'm sure the KYB's will be easier to set-up as
many companies have the know how and parts for these forks, but I really
like the stout 50mm forks tubes on our bikes over the 48mm ones, but that just me....... Aloha Alex
