different pressure plate from standard to slipper clutch?

Is that possible? I was using a slipper clutch since day 10 i bought the hyper, but due to many probs with it (clutch plates wearing out way too fast, broken springs and etc...) i changed back to the normal dry clutch that came initially with the bike.
I was using a red anodised ducati performance pressure plate with it but now that i changed back to the normal dry clutch the mechanic said it doesnt fit!!!

Is that possible?
TIA George

ciao george -

every ducati dry slipper clutch i have seen (bucci, stm, motowheels) is smooth on the inner contact surface (the portion of the pressure plate that contacts the clutch plates) ... and every pressure plate for a stock ducati dry clutch has teeth on this inner surface, that engage with the clutch hub ... which is why standard dry clutch pressure plates (even aftermarket ones) have a mark on one of the 6 spring holes, that needs to line up with a slot mark on one of the spring posts on the hub. (see photo below)

so, afaik, you cannot use a standard clutch pressure plate with a slipper clutch, and you cannot use a slipper clutch pressure plate with a standard clutch.

hope this answers your question.

following photos grabbed from rob998's posting on pressure plate installation:

marks on pressure plate and spring post that needs to be aligned

teeth on pressure plate for stock dry clutch (non-slipper)
