anyone had problems with ss clutch springs?

have an open cover , so the stock springs looked crap so bought new ones/caps .Now whilst the length is the same , the number of windings isnt- so the full travel with the originals is less now ( as the coils contact each other).Practically this isnt a problem as the clutch still engages/disengages OK , but the clutch level feels different ( harder to pull in-that's OK but you cant pull it all the way in ( as the new springs are already completely compressed).
Do I need new ones, should I just relish my shiny springs, will I kill my master/slave due to the increased work they'll have to do?
Thanks
Jonathan.
I'll save my 'importing an exhaust from the US ( to australia)saga'for another post.

I can only speak from experience with other bikes. On my previous bike, it was a popular mod to upgrade the springs to heavy duty barnett springs to ensure the clutch doesn't slip. It was a stiffer pull but well within the capabilities of the hydro system. This was with a standard (non-radial) mount master cylinder and oil clutch.
