Have I sinned by kicking the dust off my Buell:

Was feeling sorry for my uly, as I haven't touched it since the hyper moved in.

Besides, it was a lil chilly out and the uly has a nice windshield.

Nice Uly. Its good to ride something different every now and then. I took my Buell XB9SX out for a nice ride last week. It doesn't have the wideband torque of my HM but it runs well and sounds great.

Ignoring any bike in the basement/garage is a sacrilege.

How's the reliability of the Buells? My brother-in-law has an XB9X but he never rides the damn thing. I was thinking of taking it off his hands if he'll give it up cheap.

could you repeat that, I've got frost in my ears this morning

It was 29 when I left this morning, after scraping the frost off my windows. I think I'm going to need to stay away from this forum for the next few months, I can't take hearing about you guys still riding, my Hyper is in hibernation. I'm gonna go drive my new car now, you warm weather bastards

My Buell has been very reliable. It has hydraulic lifters so no valve checks/adjustments. Belt drive so no chain to lube/adjust. Just keep fresh oil in it and periodically adjust the primary chain and its good to go. Like the HM, it does need to be uncorked, so some ECU tweaking and intake and exhaust mods are needed. The 9 has a fairly narrow power band so it likes to run between 4k and redline. They do handle differently due to the short wheelbase, centralized mass and steep steering head angle. Suspension setup is pretty important to get this bike to turn in properly.

It's good to ride a different bike now and again. You can better appreciate the qualities of the bike you're riding and the bike that awaits your return in the garage.
