Sunday Nov 16th Ojai Ride

Todd started to cry about hijacking the forum for his "loser Saturday jockitch store" ride so I decided to dedicate a exclusive thread to our "way more awesome" Sunday ride to Ojai.

Meet at The Cactus Patch restaurant in Moorpark and depart at 9:00 AM sharp. We'll be riding over the hill and dining at Boccali's followed by more riding in some direction to be determined later over I-talian food.

Alex, I'll be waiting on the corner of my street at 7:45 AM and we'll ride to Moorpark from there. Anyone else interested can meet and ride w/ us.
1308 Factory Place
Los Angeles, CA 90013

Obie, put my address in your GPS and ride w/ us. You can turn around whenever you need to so that you can make it to the kids games.

See ya all Sunday in the A.M.

Holy Crap, where'd that Sylmar fire come from It looks as though the 5 and the 210 are closed at the 118. I guess we'll have to monitor the fires path and decide if we are riding tomorrow.

Good luck to anyone in Sylmar or SB!

EDIT: Looking at the map it seems as though we could always do the 101N to the 23W and get to Moorpark. Any comments on that route? I've never driven the 23 in that area.

The 23 off the 101 is quite nice. It is approx. 7 or 8 miles to LA ave and then about a mile to the cactus patch.

I'm reading more about the fires and thinking tomorrow might not be the best day for riding to Ojai. Maybe I'll just do a Newcombs run and then head away from the fires up to Wrightwood.

1. I can see how shitty the air is from downtown.
2. I don't want to get caught in crazy road closure traffic.
3. I'm guessing fire crews will be using the roads we are riding to get back and forth between the two fires.

Anyone closer to the action want to chime in with conditions out that way?

Pussy. The jockitch ride worked out well even through the smoke.

Good luck tomorrow!

I'm kind of in between all the fires and don't see too much smoke but that could change quickly. I've been out and about and haven't see too much traffic either but it's windy and hot and might be the same tomorrow.

Still planning on Solvang motorcycle museum next Sunday - weather is predicted to be a bit cooler.
