Thats my next mod. I'm looking at the small Trail Tech integrated HIDs mounted on custom brackets between the plastic and steel base of my R&G frame sliders.

From what I understand HIDs tend to be too bright for use as day/night conspicuity purposes. They would be great for use with highbeams for dark country roads, but what I need is everyday lights for freeways & around town day & night. I saw the Motolights now has a new brake caliper mount light that works with radial brakes like the monoblocks. Unfortunately they are about $440 for a pair in black. Still, motolights get great reviews for cutting down on left turners in front of you.

Motolights are way overpriced for what they are, $440 is just crazy. On my VRod, I bought a set of Kuryakyn aluminum 35W lights, and swapped in high quality 50W Phillips spot projector lamps and heavier guage wiring, for a fraction of what Motolights cost. My headlight did not even matter after installing these, and I had no problems with oncoming traffic or law enforcement. They were better than the PIAA 1100Xs on my neighbors BMW when we rode together.

If you look at the specs of the HIDs, the spot beam patten should be fine at night as long as they are adjusted properly. Its not an HID kit for the headlight that scatters most of the light, but engineered as an HID light.

I'm looking for more daytime visibility as well as more distance at night on the backroads near my house, where deer and the occasional bear crossing the road are not uncommon.
