Walkthrough Request: TPS Reset
I have my new VDSTS kit from technoresearch and a ECU from fleabay and was hoping somone proficent in it's use could talk me through a tps reset.
I have done this before on my Buell, however I have to close the single throttle body complete to get a solid zero. My CD manual seems to have lost something in the translation and seems a little vauge there.
Can someone help?

Its easy with the Duc. Hook up the PC, launch VDST and establish comms. Go to active settings and select TPS. Follow prompts. You do nothing as far as mechanical adjustment, its just takes a referance at the current throttle position.
The CD manual is all related to the Ducati Diagnostic Tool.

The process for the HM is simpler than that for the Buell. Connect the VDST cable, turn the ignition on but do not start the bike, go to the active settings, click on the TPS reset tab, then reset the TPS. The VDST will provide a countdown to TPS reset. That's about it. Your throttle angle should read about 3.1 or 3.2 when viewing the throttle position on the gauge/meter window (with the throttle closed at idle).
Before you do this, check for software upgrades. The latest version is dated 11/07/08. You can do this by going directly to www.technoresearch.com or by clicking the update on the VDST toolbar. You can also download the user manual from the technoresarch page.
