217.60 km To Empty, 43 km On Orange Light
217.60 km (136 miles) to empty, 43 km (26.8 miles) of that was on the orange light of death.
Yesterday was a two up hoon, averaging 135 -155km/hr LOTS of passing of other bikes and a few blasts up around 180 - 190, hill work and a mountain pass etc all on our Poker run with 99 bikes.
We did 174 km till the light came on, then did a further 43 km on the orange light before she puffed out, we specifically ran it to empty and carried the 2L of fuel to get us back home so we would know what to expect.
So 17.54 km /L or 49 MPG, last week did 46 MPG however yesterday we did have the new Zard headers on which has made the single biggest difference to her power and maybe her economy after yesterdays results.
All in all with my two 2L bottle I would not get stranded anywhere in NZ but we don't have the huge open expanse of the US.
Happy Tarding gents!

Monsta...
did you find the exhaust note change with the headers? mine sounds a lot less raspy and much deeper now. not sure if its actually louder or not, just cleaner. I tried to see if i could bump the front wheel up in 3rd gear, I can get about an inch of air under the front without clutching.

Yeap definitely sounds much deeper and has a bigger back chat on decell as well, now it sounds angry and not like it is trying to blow its nose!!
Not a lot louder but a lot deeper boom is how I would describe it and Viagra would not do a better job
I can 3rd gear wheelie from 3k and crack her open, second gear is just given and first gear is dangerous , I will never clutch a wheelie as this is torture on the driven plate and clutch hub.

You don't need to take it apart, do it from the rear (per say ) I simply tack welded a 10 mm round bar about 300 long to the drill bits, I did 6 mm then, 10 mm, then 17 mm the up to 22, I then used a 25 mm bar with the end tapered and holding the exhaust to take out big vibes I simply wedged the hole out to 25 mm, this also creates a small cone facing forward which again can only be good for flow.
After a cold start this morning the pipes were steaming virtually the same but STILL slightly biased the LHS.
JUST DO IT ... I will come over and help eh
Its 7.05 am in Fresno CA now, Saturday morning so it will be a wee while before they start up again on us

Wish I could have gotten 26 miles after the light came on. Got 18 miles, followed by a 1.5 mile push to a gas station.

Cheaper than Jenny Craig , thankfully I have not been in that position.
With my two 1L bottles I should get 252.69670 km approximately ... till she runs out, yesterdays ride was spirited and two up so I know if I need to go economy mode then I could possibly pull a few more km out of the tank if need be however my Tardis is one for stress relief and grin factor and certainly NOT for fuel economy
So based on that there is only one trip that I will have to use my bottles, the rest should be sweet which is a nice feeling.
Treadmarks, are you an insomniac or doing graveyard at work?

Thanks Monsta, that's good to know. I have done 25-30km on the orange light a few times without running it dry. Always wondered how much further i'd get. On both occasions it has taken slightly more than 12L to fill up.
