Help pricing an 08 S Hyper

My buddy is selling me his hyper but we haven't agreed on price. I need help from you guys.

2008 S, stock the only mod is the DP steering damper.
11K miles, not serviced for the 12K yet (not sure what is the maintenance interval on the hyper)
Dropped in the parking lot resulting in broken stock mirror and scratch in upper fairing
Street and Track ridden- I don't care since i mostly ride the track, oil and filter changes every other track day.

If i buy it i know i will have to change the sprockets and chain besides the tune up since i think the gearing change is due but i might be wrong (first hyper here if i get it)

Bike runs good, i rode at the track a couple of times.

Any suggestions on fair price? Houston market.

ok, consider that almost new 1-2k miles hyper S with no options are selling for $9k (on this forum and ebay) I wouldn't personally pay more than $6.5k MAX for that bike. The mileage and track mileage at that is pretty high, and if you wanted to fix the damage it would cost about $1,000, and your drivetrain maint. another $500.

interesting...

Wow...didn't realize that stock "S" models were going for so cheap. This might require a re-think, as I've been considering a new one...

If you're running on the track, you don't have to worry about fixing those parts. You could get some aftermarket handguards and put a sticker over the scratch.

As far as milage, I don't think that 11K is high. I've seen superbikes with over 30K on them, still tearing up the track at Loudon, and I personally have over 20K on my 748 and she still runs strong. If you keep up with the maintenance then you'll be fine. You get out what you put in.

As far as the market value, I'd be surprised to see people taking a $4K hit after only a few thousand miles on their bikes, but times are tough and I haven't really checked out the used market. Should have bought used if that was the case!
