HMS Engine Run In Advice

Hi to all,

1000KL on my 2008 HMS in Malaysia, 1st service done with limited advise from the dealer as to best practice for running in the Engine. Only advise was to vary the Rev's and not to run RPM to low.. Next Service at 5000KL.

Idle much better and has stopped stalling at 2500rpm, had the Motard racing seat installed, much better fit and plan to have additional Slip on Exhaust / Clutch stuff etc done at the next service.

Average temperature over here is constant 29 Deg C so it runs hot (115) in town but settles down to around 90 when running.

I ride it to & from work everyday which is about 40KL good hill riding..

Any advise concerning the best run in process would be appreciated

Thanks ABL

Sound like you are on to it anyway, just don't labour it and further more start to stretch her legs a bit more and load her up.

Give her good bouts of acceleration and rolling off, even throttle all day won't do her justice.

If you've already done 1,000kms i'd say it's already broken in. Time to ride it like it was intended

kind of what I am doing but appreciate the experienced wisdom. What's your thoughts on warm up time? i let it run at Idle for a few minutes and don't load it down till the Temp gets up above 60 but (Slow to warm up) but outside temp it hot over here...

Thanks
