I went to the Cycle World show today and it was a good time, but I thought there were far too few bike displays and stuff inside. Last year there were several more brand displays and the vendors confined to one area. The stunts were cool too. I ran into a few freinds too, which was fun to catch up.
So we are out test riding and I was on a KTM Superduke (too late for the RC8). The SD handles well and has good brakes, but I did not like how the power came on, the mirrors, the ergos, exhaust note was wimpy too, and the dash is too low to view quickly. I could barely get the front end up and when I did it was into the rev limiter. Apparently, you aren't supposed to power brake at the stop lights either, not that I admit to attempting. There isn't a chance I would part with my HM for an SD.
As we are coming back into the stable and turn into the parking lot, the guy on the RC8 slides the rear end while while making the turn. I was right behind him and had to pull out around him. I think he was coasting and dropped the clutch or maybe got on the rear brake. The parking lot had just been sealed, so it was probably pretty slick when he hit it. I figure he slid about 6 feet and laid down a nice s-shaped mark.
There were lots of guys riding the Hypers (only thing that Ducati was demoing). I had to pull into the test paddock when I was leaving and rattle some teeth with my Zards.

Lots of heads turning when I blew by the Harley tent right across from Ducati.
The new Monster is pretty cool and very comfortable. I took a picture of a Hyper Tricolore they had on display (read as a painted base model). I will post it later.
Out!
