Switched power source?

Anyone hook up any accessories to their hyper needing a 12v switched power source? I'm looking to wire up my radar detector this afternoon and wondered what you guys are tapping into (I'll be using a relay and just need a switched source).

Thanks in advance!

Most of us are tapping into the rear tail light as it is close the a battery area to power our relays.

+ 1 for me.

i have christian (cassos) soldering up a two wire tap in for keyed power (lead and ground) using a vizi-tec brake flasher unit.

the vizi-tec unit is an inline plug-n-play unit, so no cutting of stock wiring ... (always a good thing when working on ducs).

btw, this power tap is for a garmin quest 2 gps for the tard.

a presto,
johnc

Yup I cut the lead going to the rear light and spliced a standard automotive female cigarette socket to it. Then plug my auto cell phone charger so that I can view google earth from my phone mounted on the handle bars.

Great thanks guys! The rear brake light worked very nicely and made for a nice tidy install
