Suspension
I have read several posts on adjusting the suspension. I think I need a pro, anyone know a good tech on LI?
btw I have experimented with a few adjustments and I'm not making any progress.
btw2, the manual states there is a "click" when moving the adjusters. All my front fork adjusters are silent and seem very loose. Only the rear Ohlins has clicks.
Anybody else notice this?

It depends how far you want to go with your suspension? I am going to race Pike's Peak hill clime next year, Tony at Race Tech has set me up with a 25-mm cartridge in the front and changed the internals in the shock. It will also help to increase you trail by pushing your forks down to the clamps, I have mine half way in the top clamp for moor stability in the ruff.
Race Tech (951) 279 - 6655 Tony They set up Greg tracys bike and he won his class and just a few seconds off the over all.
Hope this helps Woolie

Any feedback on the suspension adjuster "click" issue?

you'll find lots of discussion on suspension in the 'search', but fyi there's no clicking in the front, as I've found from a similar question here when I got mine too...
Getting a pro would help, but learning more about it yourself will help too, I checked out various "how to" links and found it interesting how things worked ( on the adjustment level)
If you're planning to race it or enjoy trackdays I'd have it set up, if you're just out riding and enjoying this magic beast - I'd look at learning the whys and hows and finding your personal settings with practice, it's not hard, this allows you more fun miles too

1.I'm no expert
2.Search for posts by Ghezzi -lots of info on suspension settings.
3.Before you do anything else, set your sag .Most people seem to think about a third of total travel, with you and your gear on the bike.
4.For most of us, the way the HM S comes from factory is way too hard.
5.Personlly, I'm about 100kg with gear on and my settings are pretty soft for quick riders but my old bones need some comfort. I dont think theres much point copying someone elses settings as we're all likely to want different things out of the bike , but for what its worth:
a.sag set- this involved taking some preload out of the front forks and rear shock
b.Front: Compression:full out from hard ( about 3 turns-standard 1.5), rebound 1.25 ( standard 1.5) turns out from full hard
c.Rear: Compression ( top adjuster) 12 out from full in ( hard)-standard 15
Rebound 27 out from full in ( full in being turning adjuster anticlockwise whilst working from RHS of bike. Now this is where I get muddled as book states full in is clockwise, but mines about half way through the range ( as it has 40 odd clicks).
I'm sure this doesnt help much , but for me , these settings are the best I've com up with.
I wasnt very impressed with the Ohlins at first ( not as good as Sachs I had on my Huskies, Aprilia - these had high speed damping control too) , but now , I think its OK.
Now, better go and make the kids brekky
