Blaster horn mod
So I did ths horn mod to get something a little louder as the hyper is my daily driver and the tiny beep beep just wasn't cutting it.
I used direct power from the battery and a relay triggered by the factory horn signal. It's loud as shit and performs really well in traffic.
Only one slight problem, a sustained blast (more than 2 seconds) causes the engine to lose power. As soon as the button is released power returns.
WTF?? Only thing I can figure is that the magnetic field from the horn may be interupting the signal from the front coil.
Any ideas?

Let me know if you find out anything, I had the same issue with the stock horn a few nights ago, laying on the horn to keep deer off the road, engine shut down, release horn , power back.

The draw from the horn saps power that might otherwise be available for ECU and spark intensity?
There is a reason bikes get dinky little horns.

I posted around March "Horn hack your ECU" Still waiting for a new dash that Scottsdale wants to replace because when they duplicated my issue, the dash went blank. I question this fix.

horn creates a magnetic feild when energized
Horn suits next to coil
The rf from the feild generated disrupts the ignition signal which is unsheilded
Just a guess, move the horn or sheild the coil input?

An easy solution to the weak horn would be a BIG hit. The stock horn is so bad, you're better off yelling at someone than honking. If anyone has a solution that won't create the aforementioned problem, I'd like to see it (and so would anyone else living in the four wheel jungle we call traffic).

Thats one of the good perks to hauling ass for 30 minutes in heavy rain.
Sorta pressure washes the bottom of the bike.

I will try the move option. I have a pair of the BRB (Big Red Beeyatches) and will try to mount them a little farther from the coil and see how that goes.
I just have to remember to wear earplugs when testing them in the garage.
