Recommed a ride for me...
I bought my Hyper about a month ago and only have 360 miles on it in 2 rides... I'm not riding it much because I've been riding my WR450 more because I actually like the dirt better....but I love the Hyper and just want to get it run in the next time out so I can start using higher Rpms
Anyway my point being can anyone give me a basic route up into Ojai or Santa Barbara and back so I can get some miles on this thing and finally get this thing run in. I live in Mar Vista so I usually just pop up Hwy 1 to Malibu canyon, Latigo, Decker, Muholland, but after a couple hours on the bike I'm a bit tired because I'm only doing very tight twistys and thats alot of work with the legs...so I need a longer ride that can occupy me with new roads and fresh scenery. I don't mind some some freeway running but would prefer to keep to the back roads. Can anybody give me some highways to take so I can make a map?
thanks
Scott-

Hey Scott - I don't have any recommended rides for you since I live in NY but I would recommend getting a few more heat cycles in during the break in. Take it around town get it up to operating temp, take it home and park it. Do it again the next day. The long rides aren't great for the break in especially staying at the same RPM for an extended time.
Just my two cents...
Good luck with the bike!
Tom

Well that is fine too, but I'm not really interested in just cruising around and getting on a gravelly road that doesn't have gas for a while...... I figured someone might have a loop like take X to Y to Z get gas at Shell before you go to X etc...
Obviously, I can just pull up my computer maps program and do something, but then I'm guessing about scenery, road condition, traffic, and which roads will be funnest... just asking for suggestions since I don't usually go on longer rides outside my local areas.

Check out the 138/30/18 around Lake Arrowhead/Big Bear. I think the roads are in better shape than most of the canyons. There's plenty to look at and gas stations. I'll be taking my bike up there this weekend and could meet you at a coffee shop in Running Spring called the Bus Stop and go on into Big Bear. PM me for contact info or more details.
Also Azusa Canyon North from the 210 is fun.

Angeles Crest Highway between the 210 and Newcombs. Gas up at the bottom of the hill at Shell and it's a fantastic 33 miles each way back to the gas station. Beware of LEO

Egrafx- this is what I was looking for... pre-made loops to go on so I could blow through some miles to get the Hyper run in without going back and forth through the same canyons .
I'll be looking forward to riding with some of you local guys soon.
