Solenoid Whirs. Starter? Nada!

The battery is fully charged. I checked this with a multi meter and the onboard meter shows 11.9 volts while trying to crank. Pushing the starter button only results in a whir from the solenoid. The starter isn't generating any response.

Connections at the solenoid, battery and starter motor were all removed, checked and replaced. The 30 amp fuse in the solenoid is good.

I tried my spare key, even though i did not get a "ERROR IMMO" message. In fact, no error lights at all.

Ive checked to see that the sidestand switch is connected properly, Looked at the switch on the clutch lever, tried rocking the bike back and forth in gear and tried starting both in and out of gear with the side stand up.

All system power seems to flow from the battery straight to, then out of the solenoid and the lights and horn work. It is showing good continuity. BTW, I tried tapping it with a screwdriver handle to no avail.

AM I looking at the starter or have I missed something?

Has a similar problem as you a few weeks back. Checked all the things you checked. Starter motor would spin but seemed to not turn the engine. My problem was a worn out started clutch bearing. Replaced the started clutch bearing and it started instantly.

Don't know if this is of much help. Good luck.

Update:

Using a jump wire between the solenoids posts causes the starter to engage. I guess the mystery is solved.
