2-1-2 ECU problems
sorry if this has already been discussed but i have had a look and cant find it:
I have the 2-1-2 ECU 96519308B it says racing when you turn the key, but it seems to close the flapper valve and it stays there and does not move,
i have put the standard one back on and it opens when the key is turned,
any one else had this problem ?
many thanks
Jamesb

sounds like one of the broken ECU's. mine doesn't even look for the motor. you could try to disconnect the flapper motor and see what happens.
did you fit the ECU yourself? you still need to get it setup by the dealer.

Hey James I thought you told me you had the 2-1 ECU.
I told you that i has the 2-1-2 Slip on ECU and it does not eliminatie the flapper motor. I just let it still move but just removed the cables.
U will be fine. I have the same header. its easier said then done when you are looking at it.
Good luck

I believe there were issues of the 2/1/2 ECU failing by leaving the flapper closed all the time. Try search. . .

I went through the same problem. The dealer replaced the ECU and now it runs great.

can someone who actually knows what they are talking about.
I was told the slip on ecu which is the 2-1-2 ecu does not turn the flapper off.. The 2-1 RACE Termi ecu does turn off the flapper.
Is this correct or no?? My bike runs awesome and has the flapper motor 2-1-2 ecu . I just unpluged the cables.

yes please step ford...
I have connected the 2-1-2 ECU 96519308B(HYM racing) if i disconnect the flapper valve motor i get an orange engine error light if i leave it connected it shuts the flaper valve and does not move gain, i i install the standard ECU shuts then opens it again when you turn the key on,
guess i could remove the cables or something but surely it should work correctly.
could my local dealer have 2 faulty ECUs , will call them tomorrow as see if the got both 2-1-2 at the same time !!
any one that knows ??

Your dealer "lent" you another $1200 ECU? That's some great dealer you have there. Why aren't they diagnosing the problem and getting the part covered under warranty?

HELLO!! No one has confirmed my question yet. I thought the slip on ecu is dif than the Termi 2-1 race ecu? The termi 2-1 full system ecu deactivates the flapper and the termi 2-1-2 slip on ecu does not?? RIGHT???
