Dyno - Leo Vince / ECU / BMC Air filter...

I just got my Hyper back from Eurosports out in Coopersburg, PA. I installed a Leo Vince exhaust and cat eliminator myself. I had them install a Termignoni slip-on ECU and BMC air filter. I'm glad I did that because both the air box and fuel tank had their respective bolts stuck and spinning in their retainers. Ducati covered them under warranty.

So anyway, with those mods I got 80 horse and 65 lb ft of torque. That's with the "quiet inserts" still in the exhaust. Love that Ducati torque.

Wow, wonder what it'd look like with the inserts out. Did you get the fuel mixture printout too? That curve is very different than mine. I posted earlier if you'd like to search for it.

Do you have a stock baseline run? I'm about to order my Leos. Same setup as you, now running with the stock cans. Its been said (dukepilot I think)that the Leos make better power with the inserts in, unless you go to a PC and add more fuel. Whats your trim set at? Likely I'll pass on a dyno run, just set the CO and ride.

I didn't get a baseline run. They thought that I had one from a previous visit, turns out I didn't. The tech told me that they usually make around 72-74 HP stock. I was kind of bummed they didn't have the baseline but I'm very happy with what I got.

They didn't tell me what the trim was set at. I should have asked but I was too eager to get out and ride.

Here's the fuel mixture print out. What kind of curve did you get?

My x axis is RPM, not MPH, that could account for the different curve. But that should be a direct ratio. Mine curve is real gradual compared to yours. Could be due to the way the guy ran the dyno. I was pretty lean. Only mods are DP airbox lid, Termi slipons and Termi slipon ecu (power commander added for this dyno run).....How many miles are on your bike? I'm at about 3300 when the dyno run was made. Do you have any clutch slippage? You're really rich at the lower rpms.

I've got about 4200 miles on mine. I wonder if the power commander helped out with the power. I see what you mean about the curve. It probably was the way they ran it on the dyno.

Here is mine.

Zard Top Gun slipon, DP ECU for the Termi 1-2 slipon, stock filter and DP airbox lid:

I am thinking that if I get a higher flow filter, and the Zard header system that removes the CAT and increases the diameter of the headers, and I add a PCIII and get it tuned properly, I will bump that up to the upper 80's at the wheel. As it is right now, I am quite rich at the top revs, so just cleaning that up with the exhaust headers that I have would probably get me to 84hp.

My goal is to improve response and hit 86-88hp at the wheel, just by converting the exhaust from a slipon to a full kit and getting it tuned.

In the spring, when the bike goes in for the 7500 valve check, I will have them throw in the DP race cams and a lightweight flywheel and see if I can hit 90HP at the wheel and 70ft/lbs.

I don't think I will do any more than that because I don't want to shorten the life of the motor. I think if I got the power up to 90hp and then focused on losing extra weight, the bike would go from being really fun, to an animal.

If anyone is considering ordering Leos, I still have my cat eliminator available. It lists for $299 at the LV site, I was asking $250. Brand new, never installed. If you think $250 is too high, let me know.

The Leo cat eliminator will also work with other slip on systems, not just the Leos.
