Hyper Head Work?
Anybody done any mild head work with gains to report? Mine is a base model and the guy I bought it from put a 2 into 1 SIL Moto with the upgraded Ducati ECU & Airbox whatever, but didn't install the upgraded cams.
I was hoping to get a little more MPH out of it and am considering some mild head work over the winter, but if any of you know this engine and think I just need to install the cams and get a Power Commander so that it can be dyno tuned and get better fuel mapping to manage some good HP gains please lay your advice on me.
Thanks.

If you are doing the cams, you should consider a high compression piston, like
the Pistal's from the Ducshop, in the 11 to 1 or 11.25 to 1 range, it will
add the torque back you'll lose with just the cams, and just give you more
HP everywhere, add if have a few extra dollars laying around, a good clean
and match port job wouldn't hurt either, just don't go wild, I here the heads
flow pretty well on their own.
Personally I'm going to a HC big bore piston, (1123CC) and the porting with
the DP cams, as soon as I hit the 7500mi mark. Aloha Alex

I talked with my dealer about getting into the engine over winter. He said that if I was going to the effort of getting in there, to do everything at once. Install the DP race cams, hi-comp pistons and then have some mild head work done. With that done, close to 100 rwhp is possible.

Wow, that must be unreal!
I love telling 600cc guys that my bike makes 90hp and 70 pounds of torque. They kind of smile and nod only paying attention to the hp figure and not having a clue what 70+ pounds of torque is like.

Heads flowed, Termi 2n1, hc pistons, dual hole air box with new filter, dp cams with 2n1 dp chip >100hp with zero miles on bike. pc3 now waiting to get off my lazy ass and carry to friends house with dyno to tune. Awesome combo-bike is an animal. Best wishes.

Where are you guys getting the port work done? The only place I know of is the Ducshop which charges $900 for the headwork. Way to much money IMO
Anyone got recommendations

When you say you did the head work ~ you, or you had it done? Cuz if you did that and got those results, I may want to send some business your way.
