I know its going to sound stupid but most of those neutrals are caused by a shift lever not adjusted properly. you should naturally be able to shift all the way up and down with your foot without having to reach or take your foot off the peg. Like I said sounds stupid but try adjusting it and you will see that I am right.
also for what its worth, every bike will have false neutrals at some point, its just because the gear didnt engage properly, and when you hit a false neutral all shift to the higher gear this way you dont toss your ass over the handlebars but dropping down a gear unexpectedly.

Agreed but it seems to happen more frequent and only between 4th and 5th.. Good point for others that may encounter this issue.. I always gear up when it happens no matter how much I slow down after reaching the false neutral..

I noticed that as well when i borrowed my buddie's Hyper, we fixed that adjusting the shift lever, the stock placement sucks to me at least.

You can adjust the shift lever to cover up the problem by making your foot give it a more forceful upshift stroke.
But the problem remains that the Ducati gearbox usually has false neutrals.
Had it on every single Duc I have owned, always between 5-6 and sometimes between 4-5.

All have false neutrals between 5-6 that you have to make sure you shift hard on those gears to avoid.

ok that being said, and like I previously stated, every bike has it, my 89 GSXR 750 had it, my 2000 TL1000R had it, my 03 Yamaha R6 Had it and my 2006 Monster S2R1000 had it, its the nature of the design, nothing wrong with your bike, Also note that my buddies Hyper S I rode this weekend did it. I work on bikes a lot and any bike I have spent any time on has the same problem if you want to call it a problem and not a characteristic.
