Ok folks, need your help
One of our site sponsers(SWATT) is very local to me.
One of the guys I know at a local sportbike forum, knows them and I think he actually works with them in some capacity.
I talked to him and asked about making up some heel guards for the Tard, and offered my bike for him to do mock-ups and measurements and fitment, and then offered to be a guinea pig and test stuff out and give feedback.
My buddy has a M900, and MongoWera from this forum is also local and has a Tard.
So what I was thinking, is that if you are tired of the astronomical DP prices on some things($300 for little heel guards??? LOL), then perhaps we can get SWATT to start making the most common or requested aftermarket billet and machined parts for our Ducs.
Would be awesome to have a high quality alternative, that costs significantly less, is made here and doesn't have to ship from Italy and hope to god the order gets processed before they take off for the entire month of August, get caught up in US Customs, etc...
And he is a site supporter, so we should support him, right?
Ok, so if I am donating the bike and my time, I need to compile a "top 10 list" of the most common aftermarket machined parts that we all desire, as those with the most demand would be the most worthwhile for him to design, test and produce, you know?
So let's have it. Apart from the heel guards(for removing the stock passenger brackets) and cost effective rearsets, what else should be on the list?
I will keep checking back and updating the list, so please participate because this could result in some significant business for him, and some really nice cost savings for us, so everyone wins!

2) cost-effective rearsets

I think an upper tripple with nicer bar clamp set up would be cool

+1 on triples, I'm in on that!! And some bar risers would be nice too!!
Oh, if we were to go ahead with this, I'd like to see some rearsets with similar "dirtbike-style" pegs!!! Very rare, it seems...

Rerservoirs and clutch/brake levers would sell like hotcakes! Although, the Rizoma and Pazzo prices aren't bad on those (I already have them). I would like a different gas cap, preferrable a flip up style, as long as I can get it in black. I think a better tail kit that is lightweight and can accept a range of blinker options would sell too.
I hope he comes up with some good stuff, I will buy something if I don't already have it.
Out!

Rearsets and risers are two thirds of the evil triangle: ass, hands and feet. Change anyone one of these components, and it impacts the other two. For instance with woodcrafts mounted on my bike, I would love to have the bars further forward. I've experimented with a few aftermarket bars and don't see many untried options to get them positioned just where I want.
How about an adjustable offset riser mount similar to the eccentrics used on Duc superbikes stem? I've never seen a product like this, but don't think its impossible. A few available degrees can make a huge difference in comfort to riders of varied dimensions and different seat, pegs and bar mutations.
There are a number of us who've already changed over to aftermarket rearsets.
Several of us have found the sidestand easy to drag. This can be dangerous. I wonder if it might be relocated or tucked in tighter?

How about an affordable hugger, doesn't have to be carbon fiber.
Cat eliminator or bypass tube.

+1 on the heel guards. I'd buy those if they looked good. Not sure about the other stuff on the list, but if it's made right and looks good, you never know.
