Has Anyone Shaved Off The Locator Dowel ...
from the brembo units to make them more ergonomically easier to use?
I find I am having to lift my hand up and over the brake and clutch lever which allows for temporary lapse in concentration and room for error.
I know it was discussed but has anyone done it?

Picked up my Hyper on Saturday and used my Dremel to remove the pins on Sunday. Now my hands are happier.

I just picked up my '05 999s and had the same desire.
The locators are just roll-pins in the 999's clip-ons. They just pull out with pliers.

Grinder???
You don't need a grinder...
The pins are just pushed into the bars. I didn't even need pliers to pull mine out. Just used my fingers... Not super strong fingers, just that they were not in there that tight.
Believe it or not, Ducati put the same goofy pins in my Desmosedici... The pins came out of it just as easy as they did on the Hyper.
I can't for the life of me understand the pins. Honda, for instance, along with many others, just uses a dot on the bars so that the lever perches are aligned in certain place - probably for no more reason than showroom uniformity - not any weird pins.
Of course, my Aprilia had pins, too... Must be an Italian thing.
Hope this helps!

HA, well I went in armed with the disc grinder, two Jim Beams and bugga me they were only pins which pretty much fell out, didn't even get to open Jim, will now and reflect on such a good job I did
Interesting, my RSVR had pins cast in to the brake and clutch hence my question .... live and learn.
Cheers all ... oh and Dallara if those pins are a real pain for you with the Desmosedici just biff it my way and I will throw it out for you

I put pro taper bars on so i did the instrument control box pins and the master cylinder pins at the same time. Some were roll pins and some were cast. Must of been the control box that has the cast pins
