No Slop Throttle Tube

Picked up a one piece billet machined Black anodized 6061 Aluminum throttle tube from Dan Kyle at the La Ducati Day on Sunday. This tube was originally made for the 1098/848 but fits the HM perfectly.

Compared to the el cheapo stock plastic tube, the Kyle unit fits around the handlebar with much less slop, resulting in smoother and more precise rotation of the throttle.

The new tube has a "Snail" shape to give more control at low throttle settings and faster movement as the throttle is twisted. This means less snatchiness at initial throttle opening.

Here is a pic of the new tube, note the cam lobe...

Initially, I needed to get used to the slower/faster throttle action but I think I like it.

I think they go for about $109, but check with Dan at www.kyleusa.com he had them on special for $89.95 in September.

you should not notice the slop as the throttle should either be at position 0 or position 1

Even with all the slack taken out of the cable there is still a sloppy fit between the outside diameter of the bar and the inner diameter of the stock throttle tube. It wasn't a big deal to me till I installed the new tube. Now I won't go back to the stocker.

Thanks again Peter, I too do not like the "snatchEEEness" at small throttle

openings, even thou its better then it was when stock, it still could be

BETTER! looks like the different throttle cam might be just the ticket!

I bet you really noticed it with the weightless flywheel of yours, right? Aloha Alex

Cool Cool...

Man, I want one of those!

I couldn't find those listed anywhere individually on Kyle's web site... Just as part of a 1098 handlebar/throttle tube combination.

Guess I'll have to give 'em a call.

Thanks!!!

This is exactly what I have been looking for, plus Dan is just a quick ride from me.
