tire-ing question: BT002's?

I've been very curious about these Track/Street B'stones for a while. I think I'm going to lever some on next week, unless someone convinces me otherwise.

The 002's have a good rep at the track. I ride the front hard and these (on other bikes) have a high confidence quotient. I hope this will translate to the Hyper as well.

My only concern is that with winter coming on soon, the tires will perform well with cooler ambient temps. The roads I ride are mostly comprised of rapid fire quick flicks. The Powers I've run - on several other bikes these last couple of years - have always gotten warm to the touch in the coldest weather I'm tempted to ride in. Maybe these will get warm enough to work their magic?

Any input before I go there?

I know guys who SWEAR by the 002s. I was just having this exact conversation this afternoon, and the 002s are where I'm headed once I wear out the 014s ... which aren't half-bad, btw.

Here is a link to the USA Bridgestone 180/55/17 page showing the entire range available in that size. No 003 listed and none on Parts Unlimited site either. http://www.motorcycle-karttires.com/...?LookupID=Size Looks like you'll have to select 120/70zr17m/c from the drop down to see the appropriate range.

Hey Da_Bull. Have any of your acquaintances commented on cool weather performance and tire life on the street?

Actually, we were talking about exactly that - seeing as how it was a tid bit nipply out yesterday.

The guy I was talking to says that even on cold days they heat up really well. Not quick, per se, but they do heat up and stay VERY grippy.

Personally, I'm sold. Having seen them in person - and felt them when they're hot - I am in love with the chewing gum compound and the confidence that they inspire.
