How low can you go?
Has anyone lowered a Hyper? I asked at the dealer and they told me that it comes with a lowering link and a lower seat is available but how low has any one gotten theirs? I am thinking of moving to a Hyper but it just too friggin high!
Thanks

How low do you need to go on it? I feel that the Hypers feel high in a static position, but as soon as you start to ride it you forget the position. plus they are so light one foot down balance at a stop light is pretty comfortable. if you ever rode a dirt bike you would think that the hyper is just right.
By no means is the bike meant to be a cruiser where you can put both feet flat on the ground.
I just re-read all of this and I appologize for not answering your question in the way you may have wanted. I was just giving you my observation of the high riding position on the Hyper

I thought only the S model came with ride hight adjustment.
How tall are you? I am 5'10" and seat height is great, I have the DP seat though which is about an inch lower than stock

Getting the comfort seat drops the seat height almost 1". I used the 's' rear adjustable link, and that dropped the back another 1/2". You can slide the front forks up in the clamps the same amount (I've only gone 1/4" there).
All together that makes a big difference. I'm only 5'6" with a 29" inseam. I never thought I could ride a hyper until I saw one at the dealer with the lower comfort/gel seat. Costs about $200.

I am 5'4" and have an 1100S.
I had the bike lowered using the adjustable link (standard on the S model, but available as an extra for the standard model) and sliding the forks up in the clamp.
I also had the seat sculpted to take out as much as possible - result a bike that is easy to ride and i can easily touch the floor
This bike is easier to touch the floor on than my Monster or the GSXR 750 I used to have.

Getting a custom made ride height rod would allow further lowering - but there's gotta be a limit as to how much lower you can go.

Singletrack, did you notice any difference in the handling. I'm especially interested in the turning quickness. The bike is a little tall for me but not too bad, I'm on my toes when standing over but both feet touch at the same time.
I really don't want to lose any handling just to make it more comfortable a stop lights and such. However I do pay close attention when moving the bike because one slip of the foot and I might drop it.
For now I don't want to change the ride height until I fully appreciate the handling and can assess any changes.
I will say that the more I ride the less important lowering the bike becomes.

I know I was concerned about changing the handling, and have run the front lowered 1/4", and the rear between 1/4" to 1/2" lower (link adjusted to it's lowest position) , no difference that I could feel between the height change in the rear in street riding. If anything the front end feels a bit lighter on corner exists with the rear lower.

Cool!
I'm 5'-3" and went I went for a test ride it was great I just could not get a foot on the ground unless I slid my butt almost all the way off the seat! I really liked they way it rides it actually feels lighter than my 695 with twice the power I could barely keep the front end down in first and second. So I can get almost a 2" drop just with the seat and the lowering link with no ill effects?

Call it more like 1.5", but it makes a big difference. Just the seat alone could be enough for you.
