DOWNUNDER: Sat 11th Quickie????

Awfully quiet downunder... we all still functioning and intact???

The 3 day-long weekend of Sydney rain/wind probably got the domestic chores all done at home for those that didn't go 2PI, ready for a clear and sunny weekend coming up:

WHO's in for a ride this Saturday Up Macquarie Pass, Down Kangaroo Valley, and back up Jamberoo to the Pie Shop???

Just a quickie to get the tires warm, the blood flowing, and BS flowing over a little Pie Shop waffle.

I'll be warming up for the 17th when I'm off to Coffs for 4-days on the HM via a few nice wiggly roads!!

Yo Pete,

I love the idea of the 'quicky' but for me its a good 1-2 hours to mac pass! 2 back again and then maybe 1-2 hours mucking about up there! turns into a not so quick ride! but I'm keen, could finish off the rear tire.

you missed a great day at Oran Park on sat, it was SOO wet and slippy, 2 wheel drifts everywhere and spinning the back wheel half way up the straight. it reminded me of driving on diesel.

I always tend to call rides a "quickie" when it's really not, sorry.. it's also probably an hour for me to Mac Pass, but who really looks at the time on a HM??

Yeah - missed out on Oran Park, ended up staying at work longer than expected with the rain I didn't expect much action on the bike; ended up playing with a C63 for a while so getting paid for that wasn't a total loss

Hope the weather holds for Saturday, there's wet bits happening to the north about then that might wander down.... as long as it clears up for my 4days off the next week I'm fine

FOR those not riding anywhere Saturday I hear that the new MCAS store along P/Matta road is having their opening sale then too !

The incoming rains might damped the spirit somewhat, I'm not too keen on all those greasy bends in the wet, so it will be an 11th hour call (at present the rains are registering down as far as Taralga and north along the range, with the ENE winds holding it back till the wind change, then we might get all the rain on the east side...not nice!!

listen to me, weather nut lol

Well, I'm still interested but will make the call tomorrow early..., as there's only yourself indicating interest besides me of course.... I might shorten the route to meeting at the Pie Shop, this would be at Robertson (just up/out of Mac Pass) but there's no fuel there, I think there might be fuel in Robertson township?
anyway..... we'll have a g'day and a cig, take off for a lovely ride in the countryside

what's your dad ride?

I think meeting around 10 OK? enough time for the shadow dew to dry up on the bends....

now don't laugh when you see me, I'll be testing out the airhawk seat, I don't have piles but will be doing a few thousand km next week and don't think the seat and my butt really get along that good

Ok so dad rides a bmw k1200s and if the weather is all good 10am sounds great. How dare you put an air hawk on a hyper

So if the weather is no good just give me a call and we will go west instead of east. My mob is 0437 949 510. We will leave Goulburn by 830ish. See you at the pie shop

Bit of Sun, bit of Rain, lots of FUN !

Left home after checking out what seemed to be a good morning of sunshine!!

Not long into my journey south I see the time on the HM and realise I'm 2 hours early, well, that means I can take some nice backroads in plenty of time...
Enjoying the ride I stopped for some pics and realise this time that my HM clock hasn't been set to daylight-savings time... now I'm late

any excuse to up the throttle a little

on the way,a brilliant crisp morning...

Then I get to the pie shop and MY45 and his Dad just arrived a minute or two later...
Two Hypers and nice K1200S we were.

Not many pics, but we had a cuppa and talked shit then took off along and down into Kangaroo Valley, always a nice place... little traffic made it OK.

Mixed sunshine and a few clouds, brilliant morning!

Took the Berry road through some nice rainforest then I thought I missed the turn off, but ended up finding the Jamberoo turn down the road a little..

Stopping in Jamberoo we pondered our future as lightning bolts shot down and rain could be seen up the Jamberoo Road where we were about to head up

Off we went, its only water...

The Hm surprised me by being more than well mannered and smooth on the throttle, no slipping or sliding. Dry half way up then light rain, then heavy rain.... then it stopped just when we arrived back at the Pie Shop on top of Mac Pass.

another coffee and some snacks after a great little ride.

Here's the line up and a proud Dad with his ride

Great to meet you guys, thanks for the company - enjoyed it heaps...

We split at that point and as the rains cleared up a little I took the backroads back home which made it all the more fun, got home just in time for another major downpour, typical loony spring weather
