NJ, PA, NY area riders....Sunday Oct. 12 to "Hawk's Nest" Port Jervis NY...!!!
OK, we had a group ride planned for last Sunday, and it rained early morning spooking most of us to ride a long way. Seems like there were a few others interested that had other plans anyway. So let's try to do it this Sunday, Oct. 12. ADHD and I, (along with 14+ other bikes) will be leaving Central NJ (Somerville area) at 9:00 AM. Destination is the "Hawk's Nest", on Rt. 97 a few miles up the Delaware River from Port Jervis, NY. Our route will be Rt. 22 West out of Somerville, NJ. Then we will head North on Rt. 523, to 517, to 23 through High Point (sweet ), to 6, to 97 to the Nest. We plan to stop for breakfast in Hackettstown along the way. Let's get some more Hypers to go. Join us along the ride up, or meet us there.

While Werloc (et.al.) will be heading up through central NJ, there is another route from the east along the NY/NJ border. Both trips could join up in Port Jervis and ride from there to/ from Hawk's Nest together (about 20 miles each way of mountainside twisties with spectacular views.)
The only benefit of this other route is time savings for people heading out from CT/LI/NYC/Northeastern NJ. This portion would ride north up RT. 17 in NJ to NY then continue of RT. 17A West to RT. 6 into Port Jervis (more or less, there are a few minor, scenic roads in between).
If there are two groups joining up, we could also plan a lunch on the way back.
Post here for details.

This Thursday, I ran into a trailer problem Saturday. I rented a van from Enterprise, $80. unlimited miles. I'm leaving early Thursday morning, should be back by 2pm and riding by 3pm.

I thought about taking the train to Harrisburg and riding back but then I thought it might be good to sort out any problems on a local ride.
