Hmmm, need some ideas here
I rarely take a passenger, so I wanted to remove the passenger pegs. Figured I could shave off a few pounds, and frankly, they look kinda goofy.
Removing them would really clean up the rear end and help show off the swingarm and stuff.
Problem is, on the right side, when I put my foot on the peg, I usually put the ball of my foot on the peg, which would put my hell contacting the exhaust pipe, about 1 inch above the Cat.
Needless to say, melted shoes and burned heel are a cause for concern.
So, has anyone ever found or come up with some sort of heel guard for the Hyper, that uses the two stock bolt holes for the passenger pegs, that would cover those holes in the frame and provide a little protection for not only the pipe, but also the rear brake master cylinder?
I looked around but have found nothing so far.
Thanks!

I think DP has some carbon guards that keep the heels off the pipe, Aloha Alex

A quick and easy way, exhaust insulating wrap. Not as pretty as CF but would look good if you secured it with safety wire.

$250!!!
That is insane. Does anyone else make them? Doesn't have to be carbon fiber.

Get some aluminum sheet stock and start cutting and drilling?

Just re-use the heel guards from the passenger pegs. I've never had the passenger pegs on and rode for a while with the guards from the passenger pegs attached near the main pegs. I don't even remember how or exactly where I attached them, but it was extremely simple and obvious, once I positioned the guards where I wanted them.

I started work on a set last year after I took my passenger pegs off. I backed off for a while because I didn't want to shell out the $$$ to get a bunch made... but I've been thinking about going for it now. Here's a rendered image of what they'd look like:

F a r k at $250.00 I would take up Hypremotards suggestion, use your passenger sets as a bolting template and cut/fab some cool design to your liking, I hate having to take a mortgage against the bike just to buy goodies for it!

In a few weeks we will have some nice carbon heal guards ready, hang in there and expect them to be a big chunk less then the DP version and very nice
