Throttle Slop
I just adjusted my throttle cables hoping to take some of the slop out of the throttle. It seemed to have excessive play, that was not there at first. The adjustment seemed to work some, but I think a lot of the play is actually horizontally along the bar, not rotationally. I don't think tightening the cables more is going to help, as I am pretty much tight rotationally.
Anyone else have this problem or have a simple fix?

Theres should be some movement from left to right, about 1/16"-1/8", so the throttle tube doesnt bind or stick in the housing. All of my bike have been like that.

I've played with my adjustment also. It's doesn't feel as good as my 748 which I never touched, but I got it good enough. I don't think the 748 has two cables like the Hyper does. You don't want it to be too tight either it seems.

AXE,
Take the throttle apart, tube off the bar, and grease ieverything with a light coat of lightweight white grease, like Lubriplate. Put it back and adjust the throttle housing position on the bar so the tube barely clears the handguard, but be sure it does not bind and snaps back easy. It should feel much more precise. Sloppy controls bug me too, especially on my dirt bikes where your on and off the throttle thousnads of times in a 100 mile enduro.

Thanks, that is a good suggestion. I noticed that it looked like there was excesive space between the grip base and the throttle housing. I just switched over to a set of Pro Grips a few weeks back and I wonder if that is part of the issue. I will definitely try that suggestion.
