i drive bout 1500 miles a month as a daily commuter & i do long rides on the weekends. i have riden the hyper & i think it's great for the city but how dose it handle above 100mph? i realize wind is a factor but how bout the handling?
is it contorled? & what is the top speed with termi"s? all so will iy go faster with 2-1 than 2-2?

I find the bike to be a bit nervous and twitchy above 100 mph. It's mainly due to the wide bars; they are very sensitive to rider input. In all honesty, it's really not a bike meant to be ridden at high speeds all the time. If that's what you want, you're completely missing the point of it.

i have a feeling that the HYPER won't be very friendly at 100mph ,the wind won't be friendly either

When I tell people I ride, inevitably they will ask, "How fast do you get it up to?"
The answer varies, but the next question always seems to be, "Where do you drive at 100 miles an hour?" And my answer is always the same...
Everywhere I can.
________
I came off a DR-Z400S. I rode that in top gear WFO all the time. I ride to work 50% of the time. The highest the speedo on the DR-Z ever stated was 109. That was downhill, wind at my back. Real speed was probably in the mid to high 90's but the point is that the bike "swayed" side to side at the bars consistently. I never felt out of control, just went with it.
I have ridden the Hyper to work about 80% of the time I have owned it. I hit around 120 on the speedo almost every day. I have not set up my suspension and when I took the bike to the track, I felt it was very "wobbly". However, on the street/ highway (read: straight line, more or less), the bike has been firm at the higher speeds. Once in a while, if there is a strong gust (I cross the Tappan Zee Bridge- about 3 miles long over the Hudson River), the bike will sway a little. Nothing to be frightened of; and it clears right up.
It is fairly comfortable, but the fuel range is short- about 110 mile per tank.
YMMV, but overall, I do like the ride.

everywhere i can to man!@#$% maybe i should just get the 1098s.....
i just wanted something that would be fun from day to day in the cty & i thought the motard would satisfy my needs.
i would just get the 848 cuz it's good in the city but i feel like it's just a "c class" benz so why not just get the real deal 1098s even though it's viscous in traffic.

I ride a Hyper through the city everyday. My friend lives in Jersey and rides highway. He's working on a deal for a 1098 right now.
My .019 cents

Once you get the suspension dialed in, this thing handles great at higher speeds. I feel very comfortable around 120 mph and occasionally faster. You ain't gonna ride at those speeds for long distances, but you can run them.
I also fold my mirrors in when I am running with my buddies, this keeps the cross winds to a minimum.
Out!

If ripping around on highways at high speeds is your thing, definitely get the 1098 over the Hyper. I had an 848 for about a month before I had the Hyper. It was a fantastic bike on highways but it was terrible around the city.
I do 90% of my riding inside the city and the Hyper just shines in this environment. I can have fun everywhere I go on the bike.
