Thumbs up Sunday 10/5 NYC Area Ride

Weather looks nice (64°)
http://tinyurl.com/NYC-1005-Run

It is my birthday, so I need to be home by 3:00.

How about a 9:00 start at Nathan's in Yonkers? (Seems a good central location for LI (35 miles from Nassau/Suffolk border), NYC (15 miles from Mid-town), Westchester (right there) and NJ (15 miles from Tappan Zee Bridge).

This time, we can do an upstate ride to Bear Mountain/ Seven Lakes Drive. Probably about 4 hours, give or take.

I'd love to do Montauk, but this weekend is too short on time for me.

On list or PM. Let's sort this out. 3 or more definates and I am in!

Thanks.

If you get on a plane now, you'd be in the US by the weekend.

Hope you guys have a great ride, I did on my birthday and it was well cool.

It depends on how Saturday goes, I'm off to Harrisburg PA and back. But If this weekend doesn't work let's not give up on getting a group ride together. I think it will be great. Tom

Another forum member and I, along with some other's did Bear Mountain 2 weeks ago. The roads are nice, but the surface sucks. Bad shape. We met in Staten Island an went up the Palasades to exit 19. I'll never do that trip again. Highway is for cruisers.

This Sunday we're going to the Hawk's Nest. Leaving from my house in NJ, and it's great roads all the way there. We go through High Point NJ too. Sweet ride all the way up. All hills/twistys. It will be the 5th time this year. Welcome to join us if your ride doesn't pan out.

That ride is sweet. Easy for me to get to as you'll be somewhat near me. I was trying to get the NYC area riders out too, that's why I suggested the Bear Mountain route. I know the side roads, so we wouldn't need to take the highways unless someone wanted to get home quickly.

What time do you head out on Sunday? If no one else responds I might take you up on your offer. After all, with a 5 day old in the house, my birthday is really to only excuse I will have for a while to just get out on a Sunday morning.

Too bad, I'm going to an enduro Sunday. We've been out the last two nice Sundays, 200+ mile days. Usually start heading north and either loop west into PA or continue north into NY and back. A good one is all the way to Hancock and back south through PA.

Ctarna,

Maybe put another one together in the next few weeks. I'm wired for heat and have Gerbing gear so good to go for awhile. I'm between 23 and 15 and have sweet roads right from the garage door, screw the interstate.

I don't know about this Sunday but if I can make it I would have no problem with the Jersey ride if you want to stick with that one CT. I'm waiting for a call back about a tee time we made and I forget if it was Sat or Sun.

I am riding with Werloc to the Hawk's Nest this Sunday. It would be great to have another Hyper to show the sport bike guys how we do it!
