Considering a HyperMotard - Few Q's

Gentlemen,

Getting back into motorcycles after having a few years out of it and really like the HyperMotard.

How's it work 2-up? Can't imagine we'd be on it more than a few hours, but need to ask.

Does the DP Termignoni 2/1 interfere with passenger accommodations?

Is there an Arrow exhaust readily available in the US?

Would you do it again?

Thanks!

Just my personal opinions...

Two-up the Hyper is better than just about any current sport bike - i.e. GSXR, CBR, ZX, etc. - but other than that it's terrible. It has more legroom for your passenger than those sport bikes, but the aft part of the seat is narrow, thin, and is literally level with no handholds or any other means fo support. The Hyper is also wheelie prone with just a rider aboard, who actually sits pretty far forward compared to most bikes... With a passenger it becomes even more so. Trust me on this one. I know...

I've got one nice lady who still hasn't completely forgiven me for her only ride on my Hyper.

Don't know about the 2-1 Termi as I use a Quat-D 2-1 low pipe on mine.

Yes there are Arrow exhaust systems for the Hyper.

Would I buy a Hyper again???

Abso-Friggin'-lutely, without question!

It is perhaps the most fun motorcycle I have ever owned, and I've owned quite a few dozen. It's easy to ride slow, challenging yet rewarding to ride fast, distinctive in appearance and in manner, plenty fast enough most everywhere and way faster than most the twistier it gets...

It's light, yet stable, and smooth both in ride quality and engine characteristics. There is a ton of aftermarket support, with more all the time, to make into whatever you want if it isn't already.

No doubt in my mind, when we look back twenty years from now the Ducati Hypermotard will be revered as a classic, and a milestone motorcycle with just as big a legendary following and reputation as the 916.

Just my two cents... YMMV.

It will cost you a fortune in physiotherapy for your face cos it starts to hurt afta grinning for so long

Two up, yeap real comfy, I have the Termis and they are fine for the passsenger and yes one has to be gentle on the throttle if you don't want bruised ribs from chickie jabbing you one afta a wee wheelie.

Dallara sums up the rest fairly well.

I take the wife out every now and then. I'd have to say it's fine for two up. I'm comfy, and so is she.

Thanks for the help.

I'm afraid to visit the dealer, but seems like the logical next step...

I visited the dealer...

Once on a Wednesday and again on Friday.....

Be forewarned, it only takes once. I never took a test ride either...

I don't think you can go wrong.
