Exclamation New GPR Steering Damper

Maybe this has been posted here already... If so I apologize for the duplication. I hadn't see one so I thought I would pass this along.

GPR is making a new steering damper kit for the Hypermotard using their latest V4 damper design. Looks like it mounts solid but is still compact and out of the way. I have no idea how the GPR dampers compare to the Scott/Ohlins rotary or the various piston dampers like Ohlins, Matris, etc., but they do look nice.

Apparently they are a bit less expensive... I even saw one advertised on e-Bay for $445...

Here's a picture of one on a Hypermotard:

Here's a link to the manufacturer's web page for the Hyper-specific model:

http://gprstabilizer.com/shopping_sp...er-motard_2008

They show it selling for $550...

Just FYI...

Enjoy!

I ordered mine yesterday, will let you know.

Have it on my 848. Works great, in a sense that I haven't had any headshakes. The first one I installed lost all of the oil (at a truckday, no less) which kind of sucked but GPR sent a replacement unit very quickly, no charge, no questions asked.

Scotts has hi speed/lo speed adjustments, which I think is an overkill, you only need high speed.

Only issue I know of with GPR stuff is leaking - however they're great about taking care of problems. Just not good if you find out the hard way tho.

I think "butt ugly" should be considered an "issue". Are they actually using standard sheet screws on the mounting base?
