Rough roads in my area and the front end feels too hard, other threads seem to say lighter oil is the answer so thought I'd try

Hi Monsterman, where did you get the tools and how do you drain the oil, how do you refill them and to what level or amount, these are the things I need advice on, I'm confident working on bikes but need to know the procedure, cant find it on my manual disc

Heya krill

OK, if you see a piece of rocking horse shit then grab it cos it is as rear as a Marzocchhi fork spanner

I have bought an adjustable pin spanner which should do just what I need.

You can empty the forks through the compression damping hole by undoing the nut and compressing the forks and pumping them up and down.

Each leg holds 550 cc, that is my knowledge thus far, I am unsure as to the setup and how the Marzocchis get refilled and this information is hard to find.

Update on the fork oil volume, each leg contains 480 ml of oil and come std with 7.5 w oil.

I will be changing mine this weekend if my spanner turns up in time which I am hopeful for.

When in side I will obtain a spring rating, length, wire diameter and number of wraps it has so anyone else wanting to soften the front will have the real oil info.

Chezzi had his done but unfortunately we don't have any further info other than his compression damping has greatly improved.

interesting, I thought Ghez said it was 10w stock..

I'd be interested in doing this if someone can tell me that i can just pop the caps off, drain em and pour in more fluid and do it all back up. anything other than that and i can't be arsed. everytime i work on the bike one of the screws that came out previous either snaps or gets stripped.
