Bike Geometry...

- Need some Input..

I have Hyper S with 15k love the bike but the suspension seems to have faded a bit and I've really adapted to the bike but I feel the suspension a bit weak in the front "also I weight 220pounds 6' ft not including all the gear stuff" not to mention potential fitting on a new gas tank... I heard from a friend that changing the geometry greatly changed the handling of the bike ... so his advise was as following "He races the Hyper"

1. Move the front forks up as high as they can without touching the handle bars

2. reduce the rear ride height lowest setting...

- So wondering if anyone has done it... second what are the pitfalls doing so...

PS. In the winter I'm planning on getting piston kit and springs from ohlins for the front forks and the correct rear spring... I heard after 15k it's a good idea to have them rebuilt anyways...

I would not recommend lowering the rear ride height. Two reasons;
1 you'll slow the steering down
2 you'll have less ground clearance. It is already bad enough as it is.

You should not have to rebuild the suspension after every 15K miles on a road bike.

Go to the Race Tech web site, they now have lighter & heavier springs as
well as damping kits for the front forks. Aloha Alex

PS: I'm thinking if you go with the bike lowering set-up you WILL quickly
run out of ground clearance, I have RAISED both ends and still run out of clearance, pegs, shift/brake lever, and pipe drags on mine!

I agree. I left my forks in the stock location and raised the rear 20mm for even quicker handling. I have to hang off the bike superbike style to keep from hitting the pegs in tighter corners.

I am supposed to go this Saturday. But with the tropical storm beginning tonight, I think I am going to cancel.
