5400 miles on pirelli syncs ...
ciao a tutti -
having gone through the stock bridgstone rear in about 2,100 miles, i wanted to try the pirelli scorpion syncs, as i had read in the multistroodle forum that 1100 multistroodle owners have been getting 4-5k miles.
well, i have just passed 5,400 miles on the syncs, and they still have a LOT of tread left.
so, if you are looking for higher mileage from the shoes on your hypertard, and are willing to live with a much steeper side profile (i have the rear worn down to less than a 1/4 inch chicken strip now ... having worn the stock stone rear to the edge in the first 24 miles on the new bike), and can get over the fact that it is NOT a track tire (but warms up much faster than a sport tire in normal road riding), then have a look at the syncs.
the turn-in is very neutral, they do get a little slippery when really high road temps and tire temps are reached, but it seems to be a very controlled slip ... not a sudden "oh shit" slip.
ymmv, but i am totally impressed, and will replace them with syncs when they finally wear out.
a presto,
johnc

+1 to the syncs!! Got mine a few hundred klms ago and I love them. I like the more aggressive tread pattern.

liar! liar! I tried the Syncs, GREAT tires! even used them on a track day! with good results! but I only got 2500mi!! on them, but better than
the 1800mi I got on the Corsas III's, I'm using the CT2's now, but for me, there are nothing special, and will probley switch back to the Syncs.
Aloha Alex

wtf are you doing with your tard ... burnouts all day long and/or track days in 110 degree ambient weather temps?
5k miles is no trouble with the syncs on a tard or multistroodle, and that is with aggressive canyon riding (not track days) and freeway miles too.

I didn't know......NO BURNOUTS! but maybe bad asphalt? bad rubber? overly powerful motor?
bad tire balancing? out of round wheels? tire pressure overly low/high?
or maybe I'm just a little overweight!!?? LOL Alex

none of the above 08hyper ... i see you live in the greater lotus land basin, and the smog there is so bad, it actually eats tires.

Thanks for the update, John! I've got about equal mileage on the Pilot Road 2's, and I want to try the Scorpion Sync for a winter tire when these are worn out. Looking forward to it.

I like the Syncs, although they do get a little greasy when the temps are high. I've run them on my Buell (over 5k miles) and my Husky 610 with good results. They didn't last too long on the Husky though, about 2800 miles. The thumper is tough on tires.
