I would like a little shock protection, but 257 USD....Daayuum.
Maybe I could cut up a milk jug....and get a roll of duc tape..

Ideally, I'd like to spend my $250 on a cat delete, but after riding through several storms in the past couple weeks, I saw hope much crap gets into the rear shock (dirt, pebbles even gum) and I feel like I need to protect the rear shock more that I need to remove the cat...

I think I'd go with a hugger. To me that guard looks like a big funnel that will just guide and trap more debris in the well of the swingarm, where the bearings are. Shocks on off road bikes take a brutal beating in far worse conditions with no problems for years.

Dirt bikes generally have a rubber flap connected to the air box that extends down into the gap between the swing arm and rear tire. With out this the shock shaft gets pitted and shock seals start to leak.
