Slider questions

Ok I don't race my hyper on the track. I commute on it daily, 30 miles one way.

I have this trick set of candy apple red skate board wheels left over from another project. I will install these as axle sliders for the front and rear.

My question is, do I want them to be able to rotate or not. I know the rear axle spins and that can make chain cleaning and maintenance when it is on the stands a beeyatch. I only have one rear stand and it is designed to lift by swing arm or sliders.

So.....to spin......or not to spin?

My guess would be that it doesnt matter, but you will probably have to take off the rear sliders to lift the bike with the stand.

If they spin freely, when you come to a stop you'll have a set of mini spinners on your bike

I have a set of spool rear sliders and also have a double sided rear stand. The sliders do spin in the stand, but it's only a matter of time before they will wear out. I idle the bike in first gear while in the stand to lube the chain. So, that being said, try to make your sliders spin....
