gas tank pressure

Just curious if this happens to anybody else. When you turn your gas cap and then pull up to remove it...is there a tremendous amount of suction? When I go to take my cap off I really have to pull on it and the noise of the pressure it quite loud. Never had a bike that has done that before. Is this typical on the hyper?

mine did that a little when it was 100 degrees outside, but since I removed the smog canister, it has not done it since.

Mine does that too. I wasn't the one that took off the canister, so, I guess I should look at the routing and see if one of the lines should be unplugged.

Mine did it with or without the canister but it doesn't seem to be temperature related. Sometimes there's quite a bit of pressure, other times there's hardly any. It's not the same on any given day or with any temperature. Maybe the breather valve is bad?

No that has never happened to me. Before or after removing the canister.

Mine does it occasionally after running a couple of minutes to the gas station, cold startup, stored in the house. I have temps over 100 here, doesn't seem related, cannister removed.

Dealer checked it out. Turns out my charcoal canister was full of gas. They removed the canister and the bike runs good now. Idles seems lower than before, around 1200-1300 instead of 1250-1350. But, it's running good so I'm happy for now. Bike has been in the shop a total of 19 days so far, so hopefully it doesn't have to go back.
