Chain adjust
OK call me a fool.
I have tried what the manual says with the two bolts on the rear. Do I just loosen them and push the rear tire back to tighten the chain? It's not working.
First time with a single side swing arm.

Lots of others have asked the question. Lots of the answers have been to grab the rear chain gaurd and rotate the wheel. Even though I have the special tool, thats how I do it.
Be sure to measure from the rub block on the bottom of the swingarm as you press down on the chain just in front of the lower guide. it should be about 4 inches. Disregard the owners manual or it will be very tight.
More info available with a search.

Just adjusted mine today after dropping down to a 14 sprocket in the front. Works as stated.

That's what I am doing. The bolts are completely loose and it's not moving.

the rear chainguard is just gonna rotate to the rear..
if it's not moving, then the chain might be tight.

well for a start the manual tells you to take it to a dealer!
The rear hub is eccentric-so you move it one way (toward front of bike ) and it loosens and t'other way , the opposite.
You can get special 'C' spanners on ebay or just gently hit the adjuster with screwdriver/hammer.to see the adjuster you really need to look at the rear hub from underneath.looks like the spring retainer on the rear shock.
chain tension seems to be unresolved- the sticker on the swingarm is about 50% that which is in the workshop manual. prolly better a bit looser than too tight.

I've got one of these:

Doesn't your toolkit have a chain adjuster in it that you got with the bike?

I did my second oil change and chain adjust today. I tried to adjust last week, but couldn't figure it out. Back off the pinch bolts then rotate the chain guard. Too easy.
