Who removed their Canister filter.......?

Some of us have the Canister filter on our Hypers. Seems like where you live weather you have one or not. Anyway, I want to remove mine today, and was wondering if anyone that removed theirs can let me know how to do it. It looks pretty basic. The large hose is just the fuel tank vent. I'll just extend that one to under the bike.

One thing that concerns me are the 2 hoses that go from the Canister filter to the two intake boots. Do I just plug them...???

Thanks...

for the intake nipples, use either vacuum caps or get a replacement bolts

the long tube from the tank just run straight down.

the evap canister is for the US only. you can blame California for that :P
it was done so that the Hyper is a 50 state vehicle. the other 49 states don't need it.

I just capped the nipple on the intake with the rubber cap you get at the auto part store. They are 1/8 inch, and yes just dump the larger hose as low as you can. Viola a cleaner sexier Hyper!

I just want to go on the record as saying "I would never break the law by removing my canister and pollute the environment." Further, I was really pissed and contacted DNA the day that mine just (oops) fell off. I'm still waiting for the replacement so I can be back in compliance

As a side note, my idle speed dropped by about 50rpm after the removal, so if you are bordeline stalling, be ready to keep it alive, and maybe crack the air bleed screws a touch to compensate. I had thought of looping the line from one cylinder to the other, as that should provide the small amount of additional air demanded at idle.

Done, I ended up cutting off the hose from the front intake at the "T" connector, and slipped it on the rear intake. I had to route it up and over to reach. Took it for a quick ride 10 mile ride and all is good.

BEFORE = Ugly eye sore....

AFTER = Ugly be gone....

Thanks for your help guys....
