Does anyone know??

If an SR2 monster swingarm would fit the hypermotard? or what the differences are in the measurements?
I think this would look way SWEET on a hyper!!!

Swapping to a shorter swingarm is a good thing if clearance allows. It will give better turn it in corners. The SXV550 factory race bikes (VDB version) come with a swingarm that is 30mm shorter than the standard swingarm. Alot of racers are doing this mod on the SXV and getting good results. Another by-product is that the bike will wheelie easier, this maybe a good thing or a bad thing depending on who you are

Are we sure that the monster swinger is the same length as the Superbike swinger? lumpy said the superbike was 20mm shorter.
Really though I am with Infedel on this a shorter swingarm = more fun. I just wonder about all the other deminsions on this thing and what it would take to swap them out.
that tubular Monster swinger would look sick on a hyper

so i ran into a guy with a monster at breakfast this morning. i convinced him to stop by so i could take some rough measurements. the SR2 swingarm looks to be about 1/2" shorter. the adjuster link and shock are mounted opposite ours (adjuster closer to middle, shock on outside right) BUT they do appear to be roughly mounting points. i think it might work, maybe with some minimal machine work?

Post Shorter swingarm...

But remember...

Mounting a shorter swingarm will put more weight relatively on the rear wheel and lessen the amount of weight on the front, which could lead to pushing the front end.

Note the trend in MotoGP to run longer and longer swingarms in order to put more weight on the front end.

Essentially if you move the rear wheel forward without changing anything else on the motorcycle you are moving the center of gravity to the rear and actually raising it slightly... This slight raising of the CG and lessening the amount of relative weight on the front wheel is why the bike would want to wheelie easier, BTW.

Also, a longer arm will give you better suspension compliance and less chain wear than a shorter one.

Just FYI...
