Termignoni slip on installation costs
Hello,
I have a question regarding the cost for the installation of the Termignoni slip on, I just finished talking to the dealer where I purchased the bike (Colemans in Virginia) the bike has a little over 700 miles (I did my first service) they told me it would cost 400$ for the installation because after they mounted it they have to tune the bike. it sounds to me like bulls...t, but I might be wrong.
Thanks for any input you can give me.

If they are going to put your bike on the dyno and fine tune it for the exhaust, then the price is fair.
If they just want that to put the system on, it's HIGH!

I got the Zard Top Gun slipons, a DP ECU and did the airbox lid, and I installed it all myself.
Went fine, pretty easy actually. It seemed to run a little lean, but the bikes run lean anyway with the stock exhaust and ECU.
So the next day I rode it to the dealer, and he charged me like $60 to reset the TPS, synch the throttle bodies and set the trim and all that. Don't remember the exact price, but it was right around there...

how much did he charge for the slip on? he might have given you a deal on the parts but charged you extra on the install to make up for it...

Can't remember exactly because I had the KN filter installed at the same time but I want to say $60 for the filter and two hours of labor at $85/hour. Somewhere around $250 and the bike runs fine. I use Speedscycle in Elkridge, MD. PM me if you want more info.

I guess it depends on several things. Shop rate, did you get the exhaust from them, how good (and quick) are the techs, etc...
After the install they need to set TPS, sync throttle bodies, adjust trim. Takes some time... but shouldn't be $400 unless their shop rate is really high.
