So, how much difference?

I have an '08 Tard standard model. Zard Top Gun slipons, airbox mod, DP ECU, 14T sprocket.

I am considering the following:

DP race cams with the corresponding ECU
Zard header system to make exhaust a full kit
Power Commander and custom dyno map

I plan to do everything at once. Would the Beast R intake make an appreciable difference at that point?

And just how much of a gain do you think I will see, over what I have already done? Is it an incremental increase, or will it be very noticeable?

Anyone that has gone from my config to the above config, I would love to hear your experience on this...

Thanks!

Thumbs up

3 to 5 HP increase on TOP-END, I'm told, also depends on your exhaust set-up. Will pull stronger on top.
Aloha Alex

That's it? By going to the new cams, converting the slipon exhaust to a full system, and a PCIII with custom map, yields only about 3-5hp?

Hmmm....

NO......... After the mods, with just the TPO Beast intakes, the whole performance package
over the stock bike will net you 12 to 18HP increase, which is not too bad for a 1078CC 2 valve motor. Aloha Alex

it looks like you were asking specifically what the Beast R would do in addition to having done the other mods previously. does that make sense?

If you're going to install the cams, you might want to think about getting some H/C pistons. The pistons will help maintain torque off the bottom while the cams will provide a nice boost from mid to top. A little head work wouldn't hurt either. The Beast R will not only provide a couple of HP in the mid/upper range but will also boost low end torque and flatten the torque curve.

The stock airbox is a bottleneck to creating more power even with a stock engine. I would do the Beast R first, along with the Nichols flywheel, PC and DP ECU. Then you can decide if you still need the cams, etc.

i have been told that with ducati you do not install a power commander with exhaust. if you replace the ecu, then you are fine! check with your local mechanic. i have only heard through the grape vine.

Hi, we are in Marietta if you want to come by and see our new veocity stacks, they make the most HP in the upper midrange and peak HP and will be about $100 less for the kit than the ones we tested against. Either way you should be between 98 and 104HP with HC Pistal's, cams, stacks, pipe and mapping. We are a Dynojet tuning center also.
We will have the kit on our store soon but are installing them now.

Mark
