! Stolen Ducatis !
Posting for New England Ducati legend, Bruce Meyers.
Please pass along where ever you can:
> On Saturday night, August 16, my truck was stolen from the
underground parking lot of my hotel in Mt. Tremblant. In it were my
748RS and my vintage TT2 Ducatis, plus all my riding gear and some
spare parts. I am here in Mont Tremblant hosting track days on Monday
and Tuesday.
>
> My bikes are very unique. Both have my race number (545). The RS is
black and white checkerboard paint scheme. The TT2 is yellow and red
vintage TT paint scheme. These bikes are very rare and it will be
hard for a thief to move them without creating some notice, whether
complete bikes or as parts. I am asking that anyone who might see RS
or TT parts start to appear for sale on the internet or elsewhere,
please contact me asap. My mobile number is 603-387-8193. Appreciate
everyone helping.
>
> Spare parts included Corse 17 inch and 16.5 inch mag wheels for RS.
>
> Best regards and thank you for your help.

As a whole, they can't get very far.
Hopefully all racing orgs will take note too.

Bruce is a great guy and runs a class operation, as far as I know, and I know those bikes were very important to him. I hope the culprit has a very amorous and hairy cell mate when he gets caught and sentenced.

Major Bummer
Bruce and Susie are a class act and just wonderful enthusiasts.
This is a major bummer. I wish the worst on the A$$wipes that took it.

Quebec, FYI
I agree Bruce and Susie are great. However, Getting your vehicle ripped off in Quebec is very common. I have friends who have gone into piss and come out and their car is gone. Have friends who trailered their snowmobiles to Quebec, spent the night in a hotel and when they woke up in the morning truck, trailer and sleds all gone. So many US cars get ripped off at the Montreal airport that we have quit flying out of there. Apparently the cops are in on the deal. Story is that the thieves grab the goods and drive into a shipping container shortly after. My friends all have said when the finally got ahold of the cops, the police where very indifferent, and basically said that they were screwed. To have auto insurance coverage for driving in Canada you have to request a special little card of proof. It is free from your insurer, but if you dont have one you can be fucked. Not very many people outside of border areas know about the cards, I didn't til a year after moving here and someone at work mentioned it to me. Called my insurer and he said "Oh yeah, I guess I should have mentioned that." Not all insurers are the same, but I know from experience that not all auto and health insurers will cover you automatically outside of your home country. I hope Bruce was insured properly, and I hope his stuffs not on a ship headed for Europe. I told my buddies who work for Border Patrol and Customs to be on the lookout for some Ducati's, and to call me if they thought they had something questionable. Best wishes to Bruce.
Mark

Don't know Bruce, but bump anyway.
I have a few hundred .223 rounds laying around if anyone wants to get serious.
