cracked oil carter

I discovered it accidentally as i was cleaning the bike yesterday .the middle oil carter has a serious crack starting from the left where it's bigger and goes to the right .very disappointing .the thing is that every dealer is closed for summer holidays .should i ride the bike or not i don't know

i will post pictures soon.sorry i don't know the US terminology...
it is right next to where the front part of the engine hangin from the frame or should i say
where you place the frame crash protectors-sliders.any better?
where the engine screws to the frame ,right next to it.
crankcase half?

If it is where I am thinking my mates one did exactly the same, the engine mount casing broke on the front mount, there is a casting seam right through there which is bluudy dumb.

His was done under warantee.

Seems you may have oil pressure problems if you ride it like that. I would NOT ride it at all.

It seems that except the oil pressure the the crack will get bigger and god knows what next! thanks anyway!!!!!

Total loss

When I started racing (just after they invented time) the Nortons (singles) of the day had total loss oiling systems; the rider/mechanics used to wrap their machines with enough oil absorbing foam to soak up about a liter of oil for each heat race and enough to soak up 50% more if they made the feature, which became increasing rare as the Japanese manufactures turned their attention to dominating this segment pf the competition.

I am NOT advocating wraping your Ducati in anything but love (more money).

i think i understand .the main thing for me it is not about love and money ,is that in the midlle of summer and everything closed i end up with no bike without me being responsible for it.
If you know what i mean.............................................. .......................
