Helmets
Today, I lost power. To kill some time I cleaned my leathers and my helmets. All of a sudden my wife says, I think you need a new helmet. I am thinking to my self what did she buy in order to say this. She said she didnt like my helmets and wanted me to get something else. I have two Suomy's a solid antracite and a silver ben bostrom 06 model. My question is what helmets are you wearing with your motard? I have looked at the Arai XD3 but, I really do not want to wear a motard helmet. I want to stick with Suomy's. Shoei and Arai are ok but I really like Suomy's. Just looking for ideas. I will only wear a Spec 1R, X-11 or RX-7.

Shoei X-11. Makes alot of wind noise without ear plugs but keeps my head cool on the hottest days.

Arai RX-7 Corsair, Randy Red. Lightest and best fitting helmet I've ever owned.

I recently bought a Shoei Hornet D/S, which is very similar to the Arai XD3, a motard/dual-sport style. It got good reviews as far as noise and comfort, but I found it to be way too noisy on the Hypermotard, and exhausting to wear on that bike. I wanted something much lighter than my Schuberth S1, which the Hornet was, but the "beak" caused the airflow to pull at my head at higher speeds, especially when turning my head slightly, and was actually worse. I used it for a couple of rides, and then switched back to the Schuberth and realized what a great helmet it was. Immediately posted the Shoei Hornet on ADVrider.com and sold it. The D/S style is great if you're on a bike with a windshield, but other than looking cool on the Hyper I don't think it works well, IMO.

I just ordered a Shark RSX Intense in red and white.
3mm faceshield is sweet. F1 racing helmet technology.
The face shield swaps faster than anything I've seen.
It's a pretty light helmet.

I have a Shark Foggy replica RSR-2 and a Sparx S-07 Skullz. i mainly use the Shark, the Sparx was what i used on my Streetfighter and now only use it for short trips to the store & such.
