Dealer Cost
Hey 'Tards,
I used to be the parts manager at a really big dealership (sold everything except Ducati!), where I still get a serious discount on everthing. Since y'all have been so helpful answering my rookie questions, I figured I'd extend an open offer to those of you that live in the L.A. area. If you're planning any major purchases (the discount really only pencils out if you're spending a couple hundy or more), then let me know and I'll hook y'all up. I just ordered some stuff from Lockhart-Phillips, I'll post the items, retail and my cost so you can compare. Since I know tires are always in big demand, I'll get some prices on some Hyper sizes. You would have to meet me at the shop to P/U anything ordered. -K

Here's some examples I picked up today. All the prices are out the door (give or take a $1)
SpeedyMoto sliders $125, pressure plate $185
SpeedyMoto 5 spoke clutch cover $175 (ouch!)
CM Composit hugger $255 (double ouch!!)
Paulimoto sprocket cover $60
AFAM carrier for 520 chain $155, spocket $62
Still working on some other STM and Speedy bling, as well as tire prices. Hasta.-K

Damn. I work at a dealership, and I think I know why you USED to be a parts manager. So, what you're saying is, you're gonna buy this stuff from your former employer and then sell this stuff at a discount? Am I understanding this correctly?
What an interesting post you have there.

Where's the shop? And what's the turnaround time on orders? I'm in LA all the time on business... stay in Santa Monica.
Thanks,
B

Feel better?
You just keep thinking about the things you 'know', but you definitely don't understand or get it, nor will you. But everyone else will. And since I've already made more money than I know what to do with (or you ever will), while you're at your crap dealership job, my biggest problem is figuring out which toy to play with today. Thanks for caring.

Cool your jets there little brother. It would be impossible for me to care any less than I do right now about how much money you have made. That's absolutely none of my concern. I am, however, concerned about you buying Lockhart/Phillips stuff at dealer cost - then selling it past a reputable dealership. That's all. Take care now, and good selling!
